The magic of mums sleeve and a bit of editing saved the day, though you can still see a few smudges, which is all good! Life is messy and beautiful all at once.

I had 2 beautiful maternity shoots this weekend and each felt a little different to my usual shoots, different through location or light ( or the good ol moon placement idk )
But it was a good reminder that though we can't control everything, a little unexpected change makes for great creativity and paths we might have never taken.
This one felt like it needed to be B&W and i like the vibe of it.

I let kids be kids on my shoots — wild, free, curious, and completely themselves.

Children don’t often get many chances to lead or choose, but in front of my lens, they do. They decide where to run, what to explore, when to pause — and that simple sense of choice lights them up. It builds confidence. It helps them feel seen, heard, and safe.

When children feel free and empowered, their true spirit shines. And when parents are relaxed, it creates the space for that magic to unfold naturally.

Let them be little. Let them lead. Let them feel the joy of choosing their own adventure — I’ll be there to capture every beautifully honest moment.

I am an artist, My brain is wired to seek out light—how it falls, dances, softens, and ignites. I see symmetry not just in structure but in stories and in the quiet balance of nature. Colors speak to me like energy fields, blending and bleeding into each other with emotion and intent. This way of seeing has always been with me, like a quiet compass guiding my perception.

At school I struggled with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADD and probably a few other things, I’ve come to understand that they are not flaws, but signs that some of us perceive the world through a different lens. My mind doesn’t work in remembering facts or being able to regurgitate them on command for a grade or social inclusion —it flows in curves and spirals, in light patterns, and intuitive truths The very challenges that once set me apart are now the same forces that deepen my art. I was never meant to fit into rigid systems; I was meant to translate what can not be easily spoken into something felt.

My emails are filled with typos, and i will ask you to straighten your shirtline, necklace, or boobs because this is how i see. A jumble of chaos and precision.

This is Tania, who I had the pleasure of capturing this weekend. She emulated a feeling of being fully arrived. Though she mentioned being nervous, it did not translate in the moment or in the images.
Photographing women is truly a privilege.
It might come as no surprise that I was raised by a fierce feminist mother. While I don't align with many of the feminist narratives of the '80s and '90s, I believe they did it the way they had to do to survive in that time. Softness and sensitivity weren't celebrated in our home—or, really, in the culture at large.

In my home now, with my two daughters, softness is not only accepted but deeply valued and applauded.

This is why I love photographing women at this time: to witness and honor the softness, the femininity, the quiet knowing we carry—and all the other beautiful aspects of women.
Whatever that looks like for each individual.
No hiding. No performance. Just the being.

Nailed it on the first shot. Why? Probably as Kelly was still in flow state from giving me my reading moments before and me, i was in a place of peace having just connected with my dad.
This is my favorite shot of the entire shoot and as i always do, i over delivered with a gallery of 190, yet the first shot.
It has a power and softness weaved in together, much like Kellly when you meet her.
Much like all divine feminine.
Power and softness. A force to be reconed with.

I think one of the best parts of this deliciously creative mahi that i love, apart from the expression of it and getting to work in nature, is getting to hang out with you beauties for an hour or so. Learning who you are, your struggles, and your joys. Finding the commonalities and honoring the differences in this feminine experiences earthside.

It's always a bit of a leap faith being freelance and as winter rolls in i start to look at other options for bread and butter income, I have definitely done my days of soul draining jobs.though in my heart i know im not in any way cut out for a 9 to 5er anymore. And especially being a mum, i need my cup filled by my mahi. So i shal keep digging and creating and bringing in more beautiful clients i hope!
And with a change of seasons, it gives us time to learn new skills and invest time in areas we haven't had time to lean into yet, such as video for me.

I was talking with someone recently about localism and aggression in the water, and they said water can be a pretty big conduit, increasing what is already lying beneath.
Personally, i have always found water to be my best medicine. Washing away any stuck energy. I forget sometimes, maybe because it's obvious, but it really is the fastest way to cleanse stagnant emotion.

Today, in between showers, we got to get out and create some beautiful images, we did get wet in the end, but it held off just long enough. ✨️🦋
